FIRST EVER MRO CENTER OF EXCELLENCE Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services are critical to aerospace and energy sectors. The commercial aviation MRO business alone is an $80B global market that is projected to grow significantly in the coming years. Operating an MRO is technically challenging and requires an extremely talented and educated workforce high-value added, offering sustained high-wage engineering and skilled technician jobs that are difficult to off-shore to low-wage countries. Even more daunting is the gap between new aircraft innovations and the technology for sustainment. Because of the lagging gap in technology and the continued decline of qualified aerospace engineers, technicians and mechanics specifically in the MRO ecostructure, the first Aerospace Maintenance & Repair Organization (AMRO) Center of Excellence (CoE) is being developed in Ohio to aid in the development of sustainment technologies and development of the next generation workforce in partnership between academia and industry leaders.
