Blue Sugars Corporation is globally the first company to produce ethanol from sugarcane bagasse and the first to record cellulosic ethanol RIN credits issued by the EPA. Our vision is to create maximum value from converting biomass into ethanol, fermentable sugars and lignin. Our technology is customized to the requirements of our partners and designed to perform under the most challenging industrial conditions. Cellulosic ethanol is 2nd generation (2G) or advanced biofuel. Advanced biofuels are high-energy liquid transportation fuels derived from non food energy crops, agricultural or forestry waste or other sustainable biomass. Since 2009, Blue Sugars has been operating its demonstration plant in Uton Wyoming. The plant allows for the processing of various types of biomass feedstock at a capacity of 1.0 - 2.0 dry tons/hour. This capacity allows for safe scale-up to commercial plants at industry typical factors of 10-15. Blue Sugars' demonstration plant is primarily designed for the validation of customized process designs and equipment and other test programs. The plant is highly adjustable to new feedstocks and process changes. But more than being a mere demonstration plant, it allows for industrial scale production of ethanol.
