Why? China, where most consumer products are made, drastically increased their import requirements for recycled materials. With no buyer and no way to change consumer habits, municipal collectors across the country are now buried in a recycled plastic surplus. Our solution --> Make it easy for brands to build their products from recycled plastic, then let consumers know about it! Whats missing is trust. In the same way that Amazon reviews and 30-day returns brought trust to online shopping, were bringing trust to sustainably conscious shopping. Brands that buy our recycled plastic can display the BRIO-certified badge on their product listings to attract more eco-motivated shoppers. Well list their products on our searchable site, making 3rd party verification easier for consumers. Our role - Tell the aggregate story of how building everyday consumer goods from recycled plastic makes a big impact. Our goal - Help partner brands access a growing market, while enabling consumer's to help build a truly sustainable circular economy. Today, we are testing this process by building and selling a pair of wireless earbuds built from 100% recycled plastic. Weve already put thousands of earbuds in the hands of users while saving truckloads of plastic from being sent to the incinerator. The early results are promising.
