California Media Engineering Inc. (Cal Media) designs, manufactures, and supports professional audio, video, and imaging equipment and software, and provides design services to other companies. They have provided excellent, uninterrupted customer support to Hollywood production studios and companies supporting film production as well as broadcast and cable facilities across the country and around the world. Founded in 2004 by Keith Schindler and Christopher Gifford, Cal Media is based on Californias Central Coast. They partner with Ross Video to provide cards for the openGear platform. With over 60 years of combined experience, Chris and Keith have been awarded over 10 patents for the development of video products and software applications. Keith started Schindler Imaging (now part of Cal Media) in the early 1990s, and provided software and support for unique digital animation and photography solutions. Chris joined, and in 1997 Schindler Imaging incorporated, adding hardware products utilized in the 24-frame video and computer playback field of feature film and television production. For 27 years, these products have been utilized in Oscar award-winning feature films and used extensively in Emmy award-winning television series. Chris Gifford was also responsible for innovating one of the first solid-state (without compression) profanity delay systems in the early 1990s and has continued innovating time delay and time manipulation systems ever since.
