Citrogene, Incorporated
At Citrogene we have developed a novel, proprietary microfabrication technology and process to produce high precision components in thin glass sheets. The high precision components have key applications in microelectronics, bioengineering and life sciences. With our process we can take any cad design above 30 um resolution and transfer that design in to any type of glass such as Quartz, Borofloat, Fused Silica,... Here at Citrogene we have developed a number of different proprietary technologies aimed at reducing or eliminating the need of external pressure sources such as syringes, vacuum or pumps, in microfluidic applications. We can quickly modify our designs to meet the requirement of our customers and partners. Some of the applications that have been proven using our microfabrication solution can be categorized as microfluidics, lab on a chip, biosensors, flow cells, sequencing, diagnostics, filtration and sorting. Here are few product examples: Three-layer passive biochips on the glass, ideal for PCR (Polymeric Chain Reaction), with any desired shape and/or number of channels. This product can include a Wavy mixer that is connected to the reaction chamber. Bioreactor chamber built in the glass; ideal for proteomics up to 64 chambers. Fabricating of an array of microholes in Borofloat, Fused Silica and quartz for biomedical applications. Glass with thickness of 1mm, each cylindrical hole has size, i.e. 200-micron diameter and 50-micron diameter, within 250-micron, and 100-micron pitch. Bio-farm, 48 squares are cut through on the 1 mm thick glass. Fabrication of centrifugal microfluidic chip components; such a four-layer the centrifugal microfluidics chip. Citrogenes mission is to use our engineering solutions to fill existing technology and innovation gaps in the processing of brittle materials and provide elegant solutions to complex glass engineering problems on a sub-millimeter level.
