CNL Casting Sales, Inc.
With combined 60 years of Foundry experience, we specialize in Diagnosing and applying cures to seamingly unfixable issues with Castings, Forgings or Machined Parts. Our salespeople are degreed engineers with experience in design that make them an unequal asset as you begin to develop new designs. We can offer expertise in process and material selection to optimize your product cost. The Gluntz family has been involved in the casting business since 1922 when Bill Gluntz, Barry's Grandfather, and Bill's 2 brothers and one brother-in-law started Gluntz Brass and Aluminum Foundry in Cleveland OH. It was a thriving business through the early 80's. During World War II, Bill Gluntz was summoned to Washington to help Congress determine a pricing model for the castings they were buying commercially. The Government, fearing price gouging, had set artificial price controls based on a price per pound that was crushing companies that were doing more intricate castings. The pricing model he developed is the basis of many pricing programs used in the foundry industry today. Chuck Gluntz, Barry's Father, worked at Gluntz Brass and Aluminum until, 1969 as the Sales Manager. He left the family business and worked for Shenango Foundry in two different locations, General Aluminum as Vice President of Sales, Winters Industries in Canton as President, and Crucible Steel Castings as Vice President of Sales. In 1980, he decided to strike out on his own. He started C&L (i.e. Chuck & Lois) Castings with Barry's Mother, Lois, doing the bookkeeping. Barry Gluntz joined the business in 1994 coming from a background in Technical Sales after having spent 5 years as a Sales Manager for Lightwave Spectrum International. His background includes a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio State '89, and an International MBA from George Mason University '93. He has continued to grow the business and add new lines throughout the years.
