FlashScan3D is a Texas Limited Liability Company (LLC) was founded in 2006. FlashScan3D was founded on the idea that the future of fingerprinting extends todays technologies into the 3rd dimension. It is our belief that not only do future acquisition techniques acquire data in three dimensions, but the matching algorithms of the future also reside in the 3rd dimension. Taking matching to the 3rd dimension allows for more information per minutia point as well as the possibility for new minutia features. The company has been funded by a combination of research grants, contract R&D and service work. Our past research sponsors include Department of Homeland Security (DHS), US Army, National Institute of Justice (NIJ), US Criminal Investigation Service (USCIS), Intelligence Advanced Research Project Activity (IARPA). Our research partners have included the University of Kentucky (UK), the University of Louisville (UofL), Southwest Research Institute (SWRI) and the University of Texas San Antonio (UTSA). Notable Contract R&D clients have included Cross Match Technologies and Texas Instruments.
