Their mission: diversification through the acquisition of strong, growth-oriented companies. Within three years, holdings included transportation, aluminum billet casting and extrusion, and corrugated packaging companies. Based in Louisville, Kentucky, Interlock is now privately held by the founding member Joseph L. Mackin's children. As of 2010, Interlock employed over 2,000 full-time associates.
