Kelley GTM Manufacturing LLC
Kelley GTM is a member of the Ken Kelley Family of Companies and the latest in a trail of innovation in the gas industry. The Kelley family started in the industrial gas business in 1946 when father Jack B. Kelley started buying and selling helium from the US Government helium plant in Amarillo. Jack developed the jumbo tube trailer in 1960 and started a trailer building, selling and leasing business. A trucking company, Jack B. Kelley, Inc, ensued transporting industrial gases such as helium, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide and natural gas, both CNG and LNG. After taking the reins of the Kelley companies in 1980 after the untimely death of his father, Ken grew the business from $12 million sales in 1980 to over $120 million in 2000. He also branched out into such related areas as environmental remediation and training, helium production and alternative fuels. Kelley GTMs cutting-edge technology consists of the combination of high-strength fiberglass and resin to reinforce the external surface of a standard steel pipe liner. A Kelley GTM vessel is constructed from welded steel pipe with the addition of conventional steel end caps. The manufactured tubes are then hoop-wrapped with fiberglass and resin to maximize strength, reduce weight and increase transport capacity. The finished cylinders are then mounted in a frame, installed inside an ISO container, and used to transport various specialty gases under high pressure. Using this proprietary technique of composite over-steel wrapping, a stronger, more cost effective tube can be produced, thus wielding a superior gas transportation solution. Kelley GTM is the premier manufacturer of this caliber of high pressure gas cylinders. Under U.S. DOT special permit SP-14867, the Kelley GTM is approved for the transportation modes to include motor vehicle, cargo vessel, rail freight and cargo only aircraft
