Thats what he needed to repair and replace built-up roofs for schools and businesses in Jackson and Josephine counties but technically, it started much earlier, when Lew was renting a house that needed a new roof. He learned how to do it on the spot and struck up a deal with his landlord the rest, as they say, is history. A kind-hearted man who believes in an honest days pay for an honest days work, Lew Lawless started his business because the schools needed roofs and he knew how to build them. Simple as that.
