The port covers a 15-mile reach along the Tennessee and Arkansas sides of the Mississippi River, hosting 68 waterfront facilities, including terminal facilities for moving various products like petroleum, steel, coal, fertilizers, and grains. Situated 400 river miles from St. Louis and 600 river miles from New Orleans, the port remains ice-free year-round. The jurisdictional boundaries include key areas like Presidents Island, West Memphis Harbor, Rivergate Harbor, and more, with 95% of industries located on Presidents Island.
