Memstar Corporation was started in 1999 with the mission of providing engineering services to the microsystems engineering industry with emphasis in back-end fabrication steps, where most of the cost concentrates. We offer, through our Package-Centric microsystems engineering, design services aimed at developing novel device packaging solutions and at promoting the use of methodologies in which the device is designed to make easier back-end steps, such as characterization, packaging and assembly. Memstar Corporation was founded by Dr. Adolfo Gutierrez, a 9 year pioneer in Package-Centric micromachined devices and systems. Dr. Steven Aceto, a co-founder, is also a pioneer in the field of MEMS/MST automated device characterization. Memstar's founding team has developed unique solutions ranging from the first active force rebalanced micromachined device that incorporated a field effect device to the first fully automated MEMS/MST characterization system. Memstar remained a private and independent company, committed to superior microsystem product design by optimally combining standard micromachining technologies and processes available from diverse sources located around the world as part of Package-Centric architecture. Memstar ceased operations in 2003.
