Minnesota Ice Sculptures
Minnesota Ice was founded in the summer of 2013 by University of St. Thomas students Robbie Harrell and Stu Lombardo, when, after over seven years of experience with ice sculpting businesses, they recognized ways in which they could improve and expand the industry. The ice sculpting industry was dominated by a narrow field of hand sculptors, keeping options low, and inefficiencies and labor costs high. Robbie and Stu combined their entrepreneurial and engineering educations to develop a business plan and to design and build an ice carving machine that proved to be game changers in the industry by creating the opportunity to bring the beauty of ice sculpture to a larger market. During 2014, Minnesota Ice took on former Minnesota Vikings player Cullen Loeffler as there backer of the company which has increased our speed to move promptly in the market and further invest into our manufacturing process. While their custom ice carving machine is pivotal in allowing Minnesota Ice Sculptures to efficiently and consistently deliver top-quality sculptures with razor sharp precision (1/10,000 of an inch to be exact), the foundation of a premier ice sculpture is ICE. Rather than leaving the quality of ice to chance, Minnesota Ice developed and perfected a manufacturing process which results in crystal-clear, flawless ice that melts at a very slow rate. This unique process and excellent customer services has made us the largest sculpture-grade ice manufacturer in the Midwest. Our unique business model and offerings, along with our excellent customer service, have allowed Minnesota Ice to grow rapidly and find our niche in the Twin Cities sports and entertainment markets. We have developed strong, professional relationships with the most reputable Twin Cities catering companies, as well as Aramark, a national leader in the food and facilities industries. We work directly with the local NFL, NHL and MLB franchises, and Minnesota Ice is pre-authorized and insured to work within the major sports venues in the Twin Cities, meaning
