National Animal Supplement Council
The NASC is a nonprofit trade association whose mission is twofold: to promote the health and wellbeing of companion animals and horses given animal health supplements by their owners, and to protect and enhance the animal health supplement industry. NASC members are responsible suppliers of animal health supplements that are committed to quality, vigilance and continuous improvement. They work to achieve solutions that serve the best interests of all stakeholders influenced by animal health supplements: manufacturers, marketers, distributors, retailers, regulators, veterinarians, consumers, and not least important, the animals themselves. The NASC makes quality visible with the NASC Quality Seal, which is central to the ongoing effort to improve and standardize the industry. When consumers see the Quality Seal on a product, they can trust it comes from a reputable NASC member company that has successfully passed a comprehensive third-party audit and maintains ongoing compliance with rigorous NASC quality requirements. The NASC Preferred Supplier program was created in 2012 to help NASC member companies meet and exceed regulatory requirements. The program carefully vets and qualifies suppliers in four areas: raw materials, contract manufacturing, testing laboratories, and other products and services. The program helps to differentiate quality suppliers from opportunistic competitors, helping NASC members to easily source the highest quality materials and services with confidence while meeting the requirements of NASC cGMPs and FSMA.
