Lead wool blankets are the industry standard radiation shield product for industrial applications. NPO is the leading manufacturer of lead wool blankets in the world and has been manufacturing them since 1976. Encasing Lead in steel eliminates its hazards and weak material properties, while retaining its attenuation performance and cost effectiveness. We take on lead/steel fabrication projects scaling from pounds to tons while achieving some of the most challenging tolerance scenarios. In addition to nuclear power, NPO also serves the nuclear medicine industry providing Type A shipping containers and other shielding.
