Opticus specializes in making prescription glacier glasses, polarized fishing sunglasses, and inserts for ski goggles. We also sell frames & prescription lenses in our retail store in Lyons, Colorado. Opticus has designed and tested technologically advanced lenses that offer the best in prescription sunwear. Our goal is to not only protect you from UV and IR radiation, but to give you the clarity and performance of specially tuned lens filters. We offer two categories of lenses: Altitude, oriented toward extreme exposure, and Outdoor designed for optimum perception and protection during rapid movement. We carry over two dozen styles of glacier glasses and polarized glasses for fishing, from manufacturers like Julbo, our own Altice line, and a variety of others. Most models will have detachable sideshields, and adjustable nose pads and temples. Choose your frame and lens type a la carte and make a custom set of glasses that has everything you need. We also carry regular prescription eyewear in our store in Lyons, Colorado. Some prescriptions will require our special lens cutting technique called Routing. It is also often necessary to remove material from the back of a frame to accommodate a prescription fit. Routing is needed for medium to thick lenses that would otherwise prevent the installation of the lens, or interfere with the side shields attaching onto the frame.
