REAL DFM is a boutique design, development and manufacturing firm headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana with a prototyping studio in Dongguan, China and a satellite office in Bath, UK. With a focus in design for manufacturing, we make things for clients worldwide, specifically consumer goods that make life a bit better and more real. We create ground-up, completely new products, offering services from market research and conceptual design to engineering, development and manufacturing, while we also welcome clients that are already several steps in and perhaps need our help improving a product or streamlining the move into mass production. Our Garden District, New Orleans studio is an explosion of the creative. Based in a turn of the century theater immaculately reimagined by studioWTA, we design, create, ideate and prototype. Surrounded by art, energy and other amazing creatives our studio is a truly collaborative place. Our Dongguan, China studio is a prototyping powerhouse and a small run manufacturing facility. With SLA, FDM and SLS 3D printers, CNC machining, laser cutting, stamping, material cutting and more, we specialize in fast turn-around prototyping as well as mechanical, electrical and mold engineering and more. Our location is strategic, located within the manufacturing mecca of Guangdong Province, we are able to visit and validate every factory we work with.
