Sweetwater Metal Products (SMP) was founded in 1969 by Charles R. (Dick) Cleveland and initially manufactured chrome furniture before transitioning into a sheet metal shop. In 1975, SMP started building boat trailers and later developed the McElroy LineTamer® for the HDPE industry. Today, SMP's primary focus is on manufacturing trailers for the HDPE industry, carrying on the legacy of its founder, Dick Cleveland, who passed away in 2009.
