Texas is the historic epicenter of the worlds pecan supply. Its not surprising, then, that the native pecan is both the State Tree and the State Nut of Texas. What is surprising, however, is how much pecans have been ignored by consumer packaged food brands. Despite being the most antioxidant-rich nuts, and packed with other nutritious minerals, vitamins, and healthy fats, pecans largely remain a comfort food, used mostly for pies and confections and similar seasonal recipes that pecan lovers make because, well, its what pecan lovers have always made. Were looking to change that.
