Established in 1986, the Plumbing Foundation City of New York, Inc. is a nonprofit association of licensed contracting firms, engineering associations, manufacturers, and suppliers whose mission is to ensure the public health through the enactment and enforcement of safe plumbing codes. In connection with that mission we regularly meet with legislative and regulatory bodies that pass laws and promulgate regulations affecting the plumbing industry. We also work with various New York City agencies in our efforts to reduce unneeded bureaucratic steps and paperwork that increase costs to the consumer with no public health benefit. The Plumbing Foundation maintains close working relationships with key City agencies and groups including the Department of Buildings, Department of Environmental Protection, Health Department, Fire Department, and Master Plumber/Fire Suppression Contractor License Board.
