We are committed to research and educational excellence across a broad range of industrial and systems engineering disciplines - including operations research, production systems, manufacturing, quality, simulation, and human factors. Our world-class faculty work together at the intersection of these areas on research in a variety of domains, ranging from health care, to defense systems, to intelligent transportations, to advanced manufacturing. Joint projects and joint publications are a way of life for us, reflecting real-world problems that do not fit neatly into traditional academic divisions. Our faculty and student research not only ranges across academic disciplines but also challenges traditional notions of problem-solving and generates creative and groundbreaking solutions. Most importantly, our department culture is one of mutual support and respect for all members of the ISE community - undergraduate and graduate students, post-doctoral scholars, faculty, and staff - regardless of background or research interests.
