Vision-DMD is an EU-funded project focused on advancing the clinical development of the orphan drug Vamorolone for the treatment of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Vamorolone, a steroid-like drug, aims to retain or enhance corticosteroid efficacy while reducing side effects, particularly in muscle strength improvement and disease progression delay. The project conducts research, testing, and clinical trials to optimize Vamorolone's safety and efficacy for chronic treatment of boys with DMD, with the goal of establishing it as a standard of care. The project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program.
