Weldsale LLC
We manufacture Welding platens, Steel Stands, and an assortment of Clamps and Tools. We also sell Downdraft Platens, Scissor Lift Stands for Platens, Flame Clear Pyramids, and Flame and Plasma Cutting Tables. Additionally we sell welding supplies through our sister company Weldingpro.com. So, we are all about WELDING! Weldsale platens are a Weldors' and Metalworkers work bench. They are sometimes called Acorn Tables, or Acorn Platens. (Acorn Iron and Supply formerly manufactured welding tables, also, and their name became the "generic name" for Cast Iron Welding Tables with square holes.) Platens are used as Welding benches for laying out, setting up, and clamping down the metal of your welding job. They also have many different uses including (but not limited to) Layout tables, Set up tables, welding benches, welding fixture tables, They are used for restraint during welding, bending, straightening, heating and bending, clamping, bolting, screwing, plasma and flame cutting, and occasionally even painting. Weldsale Platens and Tooling are engineered to be the best in the world. They can be used for all your fabrication and metalworking needs. Weldsale Companys welding platens are made from high tensile strength cast iron (grey iron). They are machined on tops, sides, and bottom to be flat and stay flat for a very long time. Weld spatter does not stick to them since they are cast iron (unlike steel) and they generally hold up better than a steel welding table. Weld spatter will stick to steel and steel tables, and they typically must be cleaned off every week, or maybe every day, depending on how much they are used. Also, steel is very ductile, so it can easily bend, twist and warp. Cast Iron is very rigid and it does NOT easily bend, twist or warp, even when used for heating and bending. Our platens are machined on the top, side, and bottom and stay flat. The cast iron platens hold up under virtually all shop conditions. The welders love them.
